SPLICE Film Fest is a selective international short film and video art festival based in the New York Metro / Tri-State Area showcasing bold, original, and underrepresented voices in independent filmmaking.

SPLICE is especially interested in filmmakers and artists whose voices, identities, or subject matter are often underrepresented in traditional film spaces. We are committed to building an inclusive, welcoming, and artist-driven festival community for creators and audiences alike.

We welcome submissions from student, amateur, emerging, and professional filmmakers. Films are judged on creativity, originality, artistic vision, and storytelling — not budget.

SPLICE Film Fest 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026. This year we will have the festival at the beautiful Greenwood Features, 269 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, CT 06801. Doors at Noon, films at 12:30pm. Filmmaker Q & A after the films.

SPLICE Film Fest 2026 takes place in the heart of historic downtown Bethel, Connecticut at Greenwood Features, an independent cinema dedicated to unique film experiences and emerging voices.

Traveling from New York City

SPLICE is easily accessible from New York City via Metro-North Railroad.

By Train

1. Take Metro-North Railroad from Grand Central Terminal to South Norwalk.

2. Transfer to the Danbury Branch Line.

3. Exit at Bethel Station.

4. Walk approximately 10 - 12 minutes to Greenwood Features.

Approximate travel time from Manhattan is 2 - 2.5 hours depending on train connections.

No car is required.

Walking from Bethel Station

Greenwood Features is located in downtown Bethel and is within easy walking distance of the train station.

From Bethel Station:

• Exit the station onto Durant Avenue.

• Walk toward downtown Bethel.

• Continue to Greenwood Avenue.

• Greenwood Features will be on your route through the center of town.

Parking

The theater has a parking lot with limited spaces.

Additional public parking is available throughout downtown Bethel within walking distance of the venue. Because parking spaces may fill quickly during festival screenings and events, attendees are encouraged to arrive early, carpool when possible, or take Metro-North directly to Bethel Station.

We strongly encourage filmmakers and attendees traveling from New York City to take the train. It's convenient, affordable, environmentally friendly, and allows you to enjoy the festival without worrying about traffic or parking.

• Films must be between 1 and 10 minutes in length

• All non-English films must include English subtitles

• Multiple submissions are allowed, but each entry requires a separate submission fee

• Student submissions must provide proof of current student status

• Films must be submitted digitally through FilmFreeway

• Entrants must own or have permission to use all music, images, and content included in the film

• By submitting, filmmakers grant SPLICE Film Fest permission to use trailers, stills, posters, and excerpts for promotional purposes

• Submission fees are non-refundable

• We do not accept films containing hate speech or abusive or derogatory content targeting individuals or groups

Official Selection laurels will be awarded to films selected into the festival.
